FAU COLLEGE EXPERIENCE

Established FAU's all-time pitching record for appearances (88)

Senior (2009): | Led the staff in appearances (29) for the second straight season... called upon 29 times out of the bullpen and struck out 35 batters in 34 1/3 innings... gave up just 25 hits, leading the staff in batting average against (.200)... also led all FAU pitchers in ERA (4.46) and homeruns allowed (1)...struck out a season-high four in a season-high 3 1/3 innings, picking up the win on opening night against Fordham (2/20)... pitched a scoreless inning to help FAU beat No. 17 Florida (3/4)... 14 of his first 18 appearances as a senior were scoreless outings... improved to 2-0 after stifling North Dakota State (3/23) fanning three in two innings... pitched three innings, closing-out and saving a game against Bryant (4/18)...improved to 3-0 helping FAU win a tight game against Bethune-Cookman (4/21)... was near-perfect in a must-win game at Arkansas State (5/10) late in the season, throwing two innings and striking out three to earn save No. 2... battled control issues, throwing 10 wild pitches and issuing 35 walks.

Junior (2008): | No pitcher was used more often, appearing in 28 of FAU's 60 games...registered 38 K's in 30-2/3 innings...gave up just two home runs in those 30+ innings...had a strikeout in 13 of his first 15 appearances...worked a season-high three relief innings vs. Eastern Michigan (3/1) early in the year...had made his lone start four days prior at Bethune-Cookman (2/26) in a game that was suspended due to rain...went 17 straight outings after that without working more than 1-1/3 innings...fanned a season-high five batters in a late-season outing vs. Florida Gulf Coast (5/7)...was 0-2 with a 8.22 ERA...drafted in the 44th round (1,323 overall) of the 2008 MLB First Year Player Draft by the Texas Rangers.

Sophomore (2007): | Made 24 appearances including one start...15 of the 23 games he appeared in out of the bullpen were FAU victories...posted a 4-1 record and possessed an ERA below 4.00 for the majority of the season...registered 35 K's in 39+ innings...fanned five during two hitless innings to help FAU defeat Ball State (2/15) by a score of 8-3...appeared in each of three weekend games as FAU swept Western Kentucky on the road in mid-March...struck out the side in each of two innings worked vs. Harvard (3/27), picking up his third win of the year...hurled two scoreless innings of relief to record a save vs. North Florida (4/17)...struck out five in his lone start at Bethune-Cookman (5/8), working five complete innings--a season-high.

Summer league (2006): Made the All-Star Team in the Cal Ripken, Sr. Baseball League...played for the Bethesda Big Train...in nine appearances he worked 13 innings and struck out 14...held opponents to a .143 batting average...finished with a 0-1 record and 3.45 ERA.

Freshman (2006): | Made seven appearances and started two midweek contests...starts came against Monmouth and Columbia...recorded a season-high three strikeouts against Columbia.

High school: Played at Highlands Christian...named first-team All-County by the Sun-Sentinel and the Miami Herald after recording a 6-1 record, 0.93 ERA and 97 strikeouts....three-sport athlete: golf, basketball and baseball...a member of the National Honor Society, Who's Who Among High School Students and was an All-American Scholar.
